The show is signed by Luca Cattaneo, author and director; the music, all original, was written by Enrico Galimberti – on stage in the role of the Beast – and follows the story, alternating narrative moments in soundtrack style with moments of “pure song”.
Again on tour until May 2024
The Legend of Beauty and the Beast
After the public success achieved in the past two theater seasons, the show The Legend of Beauty and the Beast is back on stage. Starting from October 27, 2023, it will be on tour until May in many Italian cities, including Teramo, Brescia, Palermo, Messina, Florence, Livorno, Asti, Modena, Pescara, Catanzaro.
The cast, confirmed from the previous season, includes a couple of new performers, making it an original show freely inspired by the fairy tale by Jeanne-Marie Leprince De Beaumont, and produced by the Compagnia dell’ORA, specialized in family entertainment and a well-established production company in the Italian musical scene.
The show is created by Luca Cattaneo, author and director; the music, all original, is written by Enrico Galimberti – who also plays the role of the Beast – and follows the narrative of the story, alternating between soundtrack-style narrative moments and moments of “pure song”.
The choreographies by Silvia De Petri vividly and directly tell the story and its magical world. They are all technically different but complementary choreographic numbers: some sweeter and more romantic, others more dynamic and lively. It is precisely this alternation that makes the musical engaging.
The adventures of the sweet Belle return for the third season in an unpublished version, because even in well-known stories, different narrative ideas can be found to evoke new emotions. Laughter and emotion are combined in a story full of surprises, where reality blends with imagination, creating the magic that only theater can do.
In a distant castle, a young prince, transformed into a repulsive beast due to his arrogance, must live with confused memories of his past and a love for his princess that has become a legend. Only someone who can love him more than their own life can break the spell and rewind the relentless passage of time. The chance encounter with Belle will bring back in the Beast’s memory the vague and sweet recollection of a princess now forgotten by everyone due to the powerful curse. The search for a valid solution to break the spell, however, clashes with the secret plots of Miguel, willing to do anything to marry the young Belle.
But what would happen if the Beast convinced itself that the girl is none other than the forgotten Princess due to the curse?
A new love story and adventure told in an overwhelming musical, with an unexpected and untold epilogue.
The show features 6 different scenic settings, designed by Fabrizio Cattaneo, with quick scene changes enriched by over 70 costume changes, created by the Theater Tailor David Laura, which accompany the audience through the atmospheres of 19th-century France.
