On Wednesday, October 18th, at 6 pm, the presentations at Liberia Feltrinelli will resume. The very welcome guest will be Veronica Galletta, who will present “Pelleossa” published by Minimum Fax. Introduced by Prof. Enrico Pompeo.
Veronica Galletta, after the recent successes of “Nina sull’argine” (Minimum Fax), finalist for the Strega Prize, and “Le isole di Norman” (Italo Svevo publisher), Campiello First Work Prize, returns to captivate the audience with her new novel set in Sicily in 1943.
The protagonist is Paolino Rasura, a seven-year-old boy who, to escape the bullying of a group of kids, accepts a courageous challenge: to enter the garden of Filippu, a man who lives in isolation on a hill and spends his time sculpting heads. Filippu will soon become a friend and advisor during these difficult years, between the American landings and the first struggles for land.
With a language that blends Italian and dialect, Veronica Galletta tells us a story that is both real and fantastical, immersing us in the Sicilian literary tradition. With Veronica Galletta, the bookstore reopens to the tradition of author meetings, offering its spaces to all readers.
