The Seven Churches Tour – Stories of Men and Oars

Livorno’s maritime and rowing identity among neighbourhoods, the sea and a sense of belonging.

Urban narrative itinerary with a historical and identity-focused theme, ending with an aperitif.

This route is dedicated to the Livorno shaped by the sea and by work on the water. Rowing races are presented as expressions of a collective identity built over time, rooted in neighbourhoods, rivalries, a strong sense of belonging and shared memory.

Through seven stops, the itinerary leads participants to the symbolic places of the rowing tradition: boathouses, training spaces, and urban areas connected to water and port life. The narrative places people before boats, highlighting the human and community value of a tradition that is still deeply felt today.

The final stop at the boathouse of the Coppa Barontini Committee represents the continuity between past and present, with the concluding aperitif conceived as a moment of gathering and storytelling.
