With its 3,000 m² near the enchanting Terrazza Mascagni, the Livorno Aquarium covers two floors with 20 tanks hosting over 2,000 specimens belonging to more than 300 different species. This not only makes it the largest aquarium in Tuscany, but also the third largest in Italy, after those in Genoa and Cattolica. It is an unmissable destination that offers not only an exciting visit experience, but also an engaging educational journey on how important the conservation of aquatic biodiversity is for everyone’s life today.

An exciting tour through different marine species and environments

You will start your exploratory journey from the ground floor of the Aquarium, where you will find reproductions of different marine environments, the eagle ray tunnel, the touch tank where you can pet the rays, the wreck tank with predators from the Mediterranean, the octopus tank, the Indian Ocean tank with the zebra shark and the green turtles Ari and Cuba, the jellyfish tank and the tank of the charming seahorses that will enchant you with their dances.

Continuing on the first floor, you will find the mysterious worlds of insects, amphibians and reptiles, where you can admire the elegant movements of the iguana, the size of the giant African snail, the colors of the poison dart frogs, and the skills of two different masters of camouflage, the chameleon and the stick insect.
