Let yourself be enveloped by the vibrant colors of this magnificent bay of volcanic origin: the fiery red of its rocks, the deep blue of the sea, the bright white of the cliffs, and the shades of blue that color the sky. Above you, you can admire the Torre dello Zenòbito, an imposing three-story round plan stone tower built in 1545 to protect the island from pirate attacks. Although not visitable inside, its presence is palpable both from the sea and along the path towards Punta dello Zenòbito, a fascinating route of about 3 and a half hours through the Mediterranean maquis.

As you approach Cala Rossa, you will be enchanted by “La Ferita,” a point that shows the fusion between the rocky ridge and the beginning of the lava flows. And then, suddenly, the bay reveals itself: a wide inlet dominated by a fiery red cliff, the remnants of the ancient volcano that once dominated the island.

To reach this corner of paradise, you can use the taxi boat, the maritime transport service that will take you comfortably to this and other locations on the island. Once you arrive, you will be amazed by the transparency of the water, which will allow you to admire its beautiful seabed. Here, snorkeling is an unforgettable experience, thanks to the richness of marine fauna and flora that surrounds the sea of Capraia.
