Your journey begins at the boarding point located at Scali delle Pietre 6, just before the entrance to the Fortezza Nuova, near the renowned “Il Covo” restaurant. Sail through the maritime history of Livorno, the ancient barges and historic merchant cellars that overlook the seventeenth-century district of Venezia Nuova.

Your experience will be enhanced by the sight of architectural marvels such as Piazza della Repubblica, the widest bridge in Europe, and the Mercato Centrale, a splendid example of Art Nouveau architecture. Along the way, you will also admire the 19th-century palaces of historic foreign families that have made Livorno great, as well as the famous monuments of Quattro Mori and the historic Fortezza Vecchia, the two most characteristic jewels of the Medici’s immense legacy.

But the real highlight of the tour is the gastronomic tasting: during your exploration of the picturesque Venezia Nuova quarter, with its bridges and canals reminiscent of Venice, you will enjoy a selection of local products perfectly paired to enhance the flavor of the journey.

A crispy fried seafood dish paired with a glass of white wine and a coffee to enjoy inside the Restaurant Il Covo at the end of the Tour.
A delicious cacciucco sandwich paired with a glass of red wine and a coffee to enjoy inside the Restaurant Il Covo at the end of the Tour.
For children, there’s a tasty option of a Hamburger with ketchup/mayonnaise, french fries, and a bottle of water.

FAQ / good to know

The tasting is in collaboration with Il Ristorante Il Covo.
A Tour Guide will be on board to narrate Livorno’s history as we follow the route of the Medicean Canals.
The boat departs with a minimum of 10 adults and in favorable weather conditions. Maximum capacity is 40 people.
